Release: Into Autumn
In recent years, the leaves of a tree in front of our home would turn a bright yellow. When the sun struck the tree in the early morning, it would cause a gold glow to pour in through the windows. Finding this remarkable, year after year, I decided to attempt a time-lapse photography effort to capture the autumn leaves as they started at green, progressed through the bright yellow, and eventually fell as we headed into winter.
For close to two months, I captured a shot of the tree and the surrounding neighborhood every 10 minutes. Unpredictably, the brilliant yellow of the leaves never quite materialized; instead, they turned dull and rapidly began to fall.
Still, I found the rapid change from green to bare fascinating. I took 39 days of the captures and created Into Autumn, which can be viewed here.
